Been thinking today that I feel like a grace junkie…
I have been praying for God’s grace everyday to help me through. I recognize my need for his grace in my everyday life, all the time, in each minute detail. The grace of God is very real and very present, we just need to learn to a) apprehend it and b)reccognize it.
Having 2 babies is a definite challenge. Lately more so for me… the last 2 months have been one sick baby after another, one gets better, the other catches something new…i guess the weather is getting to us all…
anyway, i am getting up at LEAST 3-4 times a night still, and then up really early in the morning. *sigh* and each day i ask God for wisdom and GRACE to be gracious, loving, thoughtful and caring even though I am SO TIRED!!!
GOD IS GOOD. that will not change. it is His character. it is WHO HE IS.
His grace is manifested in little ways…..a phone call, a small thoughtful gift, an hour of sleeping babies in the middle of the day, a GOOD cup of coffee…(what a wonderful creation…yummy!), family, small unexpected pleasures, a fun and unique find at a thrift shop when money is tight, etc. etc. list goes on.
His grace is also manifested in the way He continually and miraculously provides. His is a constant flow of provision when we seek him and trust him. God has been so faithful to provide and give(literally) us the things we need.
Right now we are living in a small, upper level apartment (i.e. no laundry facilities, no yard, etc….) well, 3 things that I have been praying for have been a washer and dryer in the house, a backyard for the kids to run around in, and a bit more space so we can have out of town guests sleep at our place (jer’s family, etc…) well, in 2 1/2 months the door has been opened for us to move into the downstairs apartment which has a backyard (YAY!!! I can plant a garden and have a clothesline!!!!!!) it has laundry, a deep freeze!, a dishwasher, AND a basement which has a huge storage area AND a room which we will use for a playroom and a guest room.!! everything we need right now. thank you Lord!
and if and when the time comes that we need anything further, He will provide…but until then, we have all we need, and its all because He is a good and loving Father.
As it says in Matthew 6:
25“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life[b]?
28“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
